Day One of the SMUN

The first day of MUN witnessed various ideas and policies put forth by various countries on the pressing issues like protection of refugees and securing the nations. The countries stated all the policies they devised to accomodate refugees as much  as they could.  United kingdom , Germany and Turkey defended their approaches to  asylum. Saudi Arabia’s unique stance of treating  refugees like guests , was notable and echoed the rooms. While Cambodia accepted it’s poor economy and look forward to implying policies to strengthen it’s economy .despite being poor , they look  all ways to reach out to any country in need of help.  The also actively collaborated with united kingdom in exportation to help grow their economy. delegates of all countries  actively involved in deliberations and few formed allies.

One of the most notable stance was Saudi arabia’s in welcoming refugees and the astonishing one was Bangladesh’s decision of not accepting in citizens of South Korea  at time of nuclear fall out stating that letting in refugees trouble and destabilise  their economy . The MUN proceedings displayed the power of diplomacy  and critical thinking in tackling  today’s issues.
