FNC_Committee Report_General Assembly_Day 1 Establishing Safety and Support for Refugees,Returnees and Displaced

The general assembly started with roll call and general instructions to the delegates by the chair
persons.The general assembly started around 11AM.The General Assembly met on the subject of
refugee protection and assistance. The purpose of this gathering was to discuss the difficulties
faced by these affected populations, and the steps the General Assembly can take concerning
their welfare and reintegration to society.Delegates from Somalia, Canada, Bangladesh, France,
Russia, and Saudi Arabia spoke on the issue and raised the challenges that each country faces
and proposed solutions based on their nation’s context and to share responsibilities
internationally. The delegates of Somalia opened the debate with comments on the challenges
facing their nation, with specific reference to the protection and assistance of displaced
populations and the refugees. They spoke about the need for peacekeeping, infrastructure
building, and a focus on economic and financial recovery as key aspects of their plans to
stabilize the country after the return of the displaced populations, and procedures to protect
displaced individuals. Delegates from Saudi Arabia discussed their countries ambition for 2030,
which include plans to achieve economic and social advancement. They provided assurances that
they were making progress on national and social endeavors. Delegates from Bangladesh,
Somalia, and Russia were questioned by the delegate of Turkey and asked for further
clarification on their positions and proposed solutions.
Each country also gave their solutions and helping hand when a crisis striked.Many countries
were ready to offer helping hand to South Korea(the affected country) through all the possible
ways that their country could do.It was in both social and economical ways. The committee also
discussed the long term settlement and resettlement of refugees. Different countries came up
with different ideas and all possible solutions.Journalists also had personal interviews with the
delegates of Bangladesh,Cambodia,France and Somalia.Journalists conducted a press meet in
which the delegates answered all questions raised by the journalist.
